Residential

After our work on a nearby project in Notting Hill Gate the client approached us to develop the proposal for this 1960's tower overlooking Holland Park. This refurbishment of a flat in West London involved the complete removal of the interior of the concrete framed building. Our approach to the space was to start from scratch within the structural shell, allowing the extensive renovation of the entire flat.

The design for the scheme involved using the wide spans of the building to full effect, implementing a wide living area It was an exercise in the exacting standards of detailing and development of a consistent language crafted through the space. The project involved close liaison with the contractor, discussing the specification of components throughout the flat to achieve this unity across the entire scheme.

The combination of techniques and ideas was carefully orchestrated both on site and through the progress of the drawings in the office to realise the full potential of the layout. Alterations to the property include the redesign of the existing balcony to create a sublime external retreat that is subtly blended with both the exterior and interior of the building.
